Join Our Team as a Dynamic Vehicle Workshop Manager!

Are you a proactive and experienced professional seeking a rewarding opportunity? Our esteemed site in Saxham is actively seeking a Vehicle Workshop Manager to lead our maintenance operations with efficiency, safety, and adherence to company standards.

In this pivotal role, you will take charge of planning and organising all maintenance, repairs, MOT, ADR, and Insurance tests. Your expertise and keen attention to detail will ensure that all tasks are completed seamlessly and within the defined schedules outlined in our Transport Engineering Policy.

As the Workshop Manager, you will play a crucial part in optimising our workshop's productivity and performance. By leveraging your strong leadership skills, you will inspire and guide a talented team of technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellence.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and control day to day running of the vehicle workshops as efficiently as possible.
  • Strong budgetary / cost control, being aware of all the financial aspects within the workshops.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety is always enforced in the working environment.
  • Plan and schedule the maintenance workload to ensure compliance with Transport Engineering standards.
  • Ensure company vehicles are maintained efficiently so that resources are always available to meet business demands.
  • Liaise with line management, Transport Engineering Department in Head Office and the Fleet Maintenance Manager as required.
  • Be able to liaise effectively with VOSA.
  • Respond to Company Emergencies and Breakdowns as and when required.
  • Develop, train, and motivate your staff to ensure the correct level of knowledge experience and customer service is maintained.
  • Manage all safety systems relating to the use of permit to Work system, risk assessments and safety audits.
  • Manage & control the computerised maintenance & purchasing systems to always ensure measured results.
  • Monitor individual performance of the workshop team, acting as first line manager in disciplinary matters.

Have you got?

  • Capability of supervising a team of vehicle technicians.
  • Sound experience of working on LPG or petroleum type vehicles.
  • Hold a current Category C&E driving licence and ideally a current ADR Vocational Training Certificate – preferable.
  • Strong written, verbal and IT communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and to meet objectives.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work well in a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workload to meet the requirements of the business.
