Job Title: IT Lead - Special Needs
Location: Windsor, Berkshire
Salary Range: £34,500 - £51,000

Are you an experienced and passionate IT Teacher ready to take on a leadership role in an SEN school? Join our dedicated team in Windsor, Berkshire, as the IT Lead. This is a unique opportunity to lead and inspire both staff and students, ensuring an inclusive and effective IT education for all.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the IT department, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, tailored IT curriculum for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to engage and support SEN students, fostering both academic and personal growth.
  • Mentor and support IT teachers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching skills and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and senior leadership team to develop and implement school-wide SEN strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students, using data to inform and adjust teaching practices and departmental strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and external specialists to ensure a comprehensive support system for each student.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in SEN education and IT teaching, integrating best practices into the department.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Extensive experience teaching IT, with a strong background in working with students with special educational needs.
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of SEN students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about advancements in SEN education.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
  • A genuine passion for fostering the academic and personal development of students with SEN.
