Job Summary:

BHFT is seeking a self-motivated and dynamic Band 7 Estates Project Manager to join their Estates Design & Technical Services (EDTS) team within the Estates and Facilities Management Directorate. This role is pivotal in improving the facilities and services provided by the Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering a range of projects across the local healthcare economy, supporting and monitoring project progress, and ensuring that timelines, financial constraints, and quality outcomes are met. Projects will vary, encompassing both traditional estate changes and management of change initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, manage, and support all assigned projects, ensuring objective-focused service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain documents for Strategic Development Plans, Business Cases, Operational Policies, and more.
  • Set up and maintain Project Risk Registers, monitoring risks and developing contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to develop operational policies and translate new ways of working into actionable plans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and NHS guidelines, preparing necessary documentation for the design team.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor expenditure, containing client expectations to the original brief.
  • Maintain project and stage plans, coordinating with other project managers and stakeholders to avoid duplication.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth project delivery.
  • Provide regular reports on project progress to various boards and committees.
  • Liaise with clinicians, managers, and healthcare professionals to meet project requirements.
  • Support the Programme Manager with updates to ensure project delivery.
  • Plan and manage external support staff, ensuring accountability and direction.
  • Present and articulate work to a variety of audiences, ensuring complex and sensitive information is easily understood.

General Responsibilities:

  • Perform any other duties as requested by the line manager to facilitate team operations.

Location/Mobility:

  • You may be required to work at various locations as determined by the Trust.
  • Travel between Trust premises and outside the county may be necessary.

Person Specification:

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level in a related subject.
  • Possession of PRINCE2, PMP or appropriate Project Management certification.
  • Experience in managing projects from concept to completion, including responsibility for external contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of NHS processes, HTMs and relevant legislations and regulations.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.
