Electrical Technical Lead Qualifying Supervisor

Are you a well- organised individual with attention to detail and looking for a role to support inspection and testing compliance.

Our client is looking for a Technical Lead Qualifying Supervisor to join its Peterborough offices, based in Glinton, (although we will consider remote working), to provide support to our engineering community to ensure the results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates and compliant with British NICEIC standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • To play a key role in the increase in the quality and the professionalism of the services provided to our clients by way of implementing and maintaining the systems required so that we achieve the very highest standards in both the technical and administrative aspects of the Electrical Division.
  • Alongside the Head of Electrical, monitor all statutory and non-statutory standards relating to the services provided by the Electrical Division to ensure continued compliance.
  • To ensure the continued professional development of all our electrically trained employees.
  • To ensure that the company's systems and day to day working practices comply with legislative, regulatory and accreditation bodies high standards.
  • Line management responsibilities of all personnel within the technical team (QS and verification), ensuring the correct processes and controls are followed to maintain compliance.
  • To ensure the on-going accuracy and usability of the Electrical department test equipment.
  • Alongside the Head of Electrical assisting with technical queries from MCS employees and clients that cannot be handled by other technical management members of staff for various reasons.
  • Delivering post audit inspections and certifications on completed works to ensure they are within the required industry standard.
  • To review monitoring and technical inspections of field-based Engineers performed by other technical management members of staff.
  • Initial training of new Engineers and the ongoing training and continued professional development of all electrical technical staff. This includes keeping accurate training records on each member of technical staff to ensure compliance with our quality management system.
  • Supporting the Head of Electrical as the main focal point with the NICEIC which involves being present on each of the assessment visits we must undertake around the U.K. on an annual basis.
  • Technical lead on tender opportunities.
  • Technical lead on continuous improvement within field-based engineering teams. Ongoing review of current process procedures and policy and implementation of change.
  • Ownership of accreditations and legislative change.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • NICEIC compliance knowledge and accreditation.
  • Solid industry experience
  • Minimum Level 3 electrical qualification and 18th Edition
  • IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671
  • An extensive understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations and Codes of Practice and guidance documents relevant to the range of electrical work undertaken
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport within a team
  • First call resolution addressing the needs first time, eliminating the likelihood of a second attendance
