Our not-for-profit client is looking to recruit a Group Finance Manager to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the preparation and review of FRS and UKGAAP reporting and technical accounting papers. You will advise, support, and consult stakeholders on technical finance issues, providing expertise on complex accounting and reporting matters. Additionally, you will interpret and implement new IFRS developments/standards and SORP guidelines, assisting with project management and oversight of significant changes in standards impacting the Group's reporting processes.You will provide internal and ad-hoc training and advice on technical accounting, new developments, and standards, offering leadership and support for ongoing and new projects. Managing the integrity of data in the accounting system, you will oversee month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, authorising journals, monitoring interfaces to CRM and eProcurement systems, and monthly analysis of trial balances. You will work collaboratively with the management reporting team to facilitate the production of management accounts. You will have oversight of and provide analytics, guidance, and support on specific technical accounting areas such as fixed assets, end of service benefit, VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory reporting requirements. You will oversee the monthly production of the Finance team's cost centre management accounts and review the forecast for the Group Accounting Team.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified Accountant or be qualified by experience, with proven technical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards. You will have strong technical accounting with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders. You will also have project management and leadership skills along with financial analysis capabilities, and experience in managing the external audit and financial statements preparation process.
What you'll get in return
This is a hybrid role, mainly remote, salary £49,000 - £57,500 plus enhanced pension, 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays.
