Process Improvement Lead

This position is responsible for maintaining shop floor standards through training and raising awareness of industry requirements. It will also help ensure continual improvement of processes to achieve the best efficiencies

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Seek ways to improve processes and performance in line with company continuous improvement program.
  • Coordinate and promote 5S culture throughout the business, train staff in 5S practices to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Implement, regularly review and maintain 5S temporary standards.
  • Coordinate 5S cross auditing and report back findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with process improvement projects to help reduce costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Carry out time and motion studies across all product lines to determine standard process times in order to assist Proposals with quoting accurate lead times.
  • Regularly review standard process times and revise to accommodate any change in process.
  • Point of contact for NCRs, raise NCR reports and direct to appropriate heads of departments.
  • Overall responsibility for Visual Works Instructions (VWIs). Ultimately develop VWIs for all manufacturing processes, maintain, regularly review and revise as required.
  • Ensure TGMs are held regularly, advise on making the forum more effective and encourage constructive input/output.
  • Carry out 5S training and F4N training for new starters along with spill training to the relevant Spill Team staff

  • Play an active role in ensuring industry standards are maintained and adhered to on an everyday basis.

Key Skills Required

  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of process improvement in manufacturing
  • To identify and suggest solutions to problems
  • Must be computer literate
