Quarry Operative
Hourly Rate - £14.63 per hour (plus benefits)
Hours - Average weekly hours of 47.75 hours per week, between the hours of 6.00am to 5pm. You will be required to work 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (6 hour shift) on a rota basis.

As a Quarry Operative, you will work as part of the production team with the safe operation and production at Barnsdale Bar Quarry.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week plus 1 in 4 Saturdays.

What will you be doing?
- To work as part of the production team to operate the Quarry efficiently and in accordance with the Health and Safety document.
- Report accidents, hazards and near misses to the manager.
- Ensure that daily inspection books are completed and defects reported.
- Participate on Health and Safety issues at the workplace.
- Work in accordance with Environmental Management System and promote environmentally considerate work practices.
- Ensure timesheets are recorded accurately and processed in a timely manner.
- To work in accordance with staff rosters and the provision of cover for planned/unplanned absence and be prepared to work overtime including weekends, if necessary.
- To operate plant in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Group policies and procedures.
- To ensure that plant and equipment is maintained as specified and the appropriate records are completed.
What are we looking for?
- Relevant experience, ideally of similar work in the quarrying industry and above all, a positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work
- Quarrying experience, including the operation of plant and machinery such as loading shovels and other mobile plant
