Job Purpose

Working in Regulatory Delivery means translating regulation into action and making sure the industry understands and adheres to the legislation set out to protect the public's interest. Based in Intelligence, you will support the Sports Betting Intelligence Unit (SBIU) & Intelligence teams in recording and analysing intelligence, identifying risk and escalating issues which contribute to raising standards initiatives, protecting consumers from gambling harm and keeping crime out of gambling.

Key Responsibilities

It's about looking forward: The Intelligence team and Sports Betting Intelligence Unit (SBIU) play a crucial role in managing intelligence flows in and out of The Commission and harnessing Intelligence outputs to inform regulatory oversight.

It's about teamwork: Your team helps to protect the public's interest directly by leading criminal investigations into illegal gambling, preventing money laundering, protecting sports against match fixing and taking regulatory action where appropriate.

Person Specification

Essential

- Ability to triage large volumes of information received into the Intelligence team and Sports Betting Integrity Unit (SBIU) email accounts.
- Ability to interpret information and intelligence, in order to create intelligence logs and supervise other team members' logs to ensure data inputting standards are met. This will require both decision-making and research skills.
- Participate in project work as directed, including researching and analysing data.
- Ability to build effective and collaborative relationships and communicate with external customers and internal colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
- Respond to Confidential Line calls which involve managing varied issues, making decisions and articulating appropriate advice.
- Demonstrate effective planning and organisation skills to effectively deliver a variety of tasks, including:
- maintaining intelligence databases to enable the corporate memory to be kept current
- updating website content
- organising meetings and providing secretariat support.

Desirable

- A good understanding of the National Intelligence Model & open source research principles.
