A great opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join a forward-thinking business in Woking on a full-time permanent basis. This initially office-based role includes a mixture of purchase and sales ledger duties plus plenty of ad-hoc tasks in support of the general finance team.

Day-to-day duties in the role:

  • Completing daily sales invoice runs and credit control tasks, including debt chasing and preparing overdue lists.
  • Handling direct debit collections and posting receipts.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations and monitoring the sales ledger email inbox for prompt responses.
  • Setting up new customer accounts, completing credit checks, and issuing monthly statements.
  • Raising credit notes, issuing refunds, and preparing monthly insurance declarations.
  • Maintaining cash accounts and supporting audits.
  • The role may include additional tasks as reasonably expected within the scope of the post.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger, ideally within an SME Finance environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 is advantageous but not essential.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation, time management, and prioritisation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • This role could suit someone studying an AAT course or equivalent.
