Domestic Cleaning Operative

About The Role
To carry out all cleaning duties and host duties as required by your Line Manager and in accordance with the work schedule for your area. You will perform these duties in a professional manner and strive to exceed customer expectations, never over promising or under delivering.

You will be working Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 to 18:00, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent, part-time basis.

Enhancements are paid for weekend work.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role:

To ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in accordance with NHS 2021 Cleaning standards and OCS policy and process as per your training.

Dusting low & high, vacuuming & washing down all areas

Cleaning of any glass partitions

Spot cleaning upholstery, curtains & carpets

Cleaning of offices

Cleaning of Toilets, Bathrooms, Shower Rooms & Basins

Restocking of all soaps, handtowels & toilet paper

Emptying & cleaning of waste bins

Cleaning of dining rooms, tables & chairs

Cleaning of Clinical areas

Cleaning of therapy rooms

Cleaning of corridors

Cleaning of bedrooms (where applicable)

To assist in the removal & re-hanging of Curtains

To undertake any help desk task upon instruction from your Line Manager

Ward Host Role to Assist in serving patient meals.

OCS Team member will assist in the lunch and dinner service at 12:30 pm and 5:30 pm 7 days a week as per your rota and the duties will consist as per below: -

Prior to undertaking the host duties, the domestic will need to wash hands, put on hair net and change into a Green disposable apron and gloves.

Clear pantry kitchen ready for service; ensure the dining room is cleared of items and any crockery/cutlery.

Fill dishwasher and put on.

Lay table and prepare dining room for service.

Receive food from kitchen on trolley, complete HACCP i.e., Temperature records

Prep trolley for service with serving utensils and plates.

Plate Lunch/Tea from trolley to HCA.

HCA Serves Lunch/Tea to Service Users

Clean down service trolley, ready for return

Replace inserts ready for return to kitchen.

Clean down pantry kitchen following service.

Empty and refill dishwasher

Sweep and mop pantry floor.

Dusting low & high, vacuuming & washing down all areas

Cleaning of any glass partitions

Spot cleaning upholstery, curtains & carpets

Cleaning of Clinical areas (Surgery / Dental/ Chiropody etc.)

Cleaning of offices

Cleaning of Toilets, Bathrooms & Basins

Restocking of all soaps, handtowels & toilet paper

Emptying & cleaning of waste bins

Cleaning of corridors

Cleaning of the kitchen & all equipment within the area

Arranging for trust staff to clear cupboard floors allowing cleaning

Where agreed litter picking & sweeping of external areas

Assisting inpatient feeding if required (DeVitre House)

To be courteous to staff, visitors, Service users & team members

To take responsibility for all, consumables, equipment & machinery used

To ensure you are present in your place of work at all times.

To develop a good knowledge of the unit you are working on to enable efficient working practices

To understand the units working pattern so you do not conflict with the units daily working pattern

To uphold the company core values at all times

Attend all training courses as required by the company

Comply with all company policy, procedure and training at all times.

Comply with uniform policy at all times to include plain, closed toe shoes.

Comply with the company social media policy at all times.

To maintain company, patient and client confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

  • Cleaning experience within a healthcare environment desired but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • The ability to be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ensure personal appearance and presentation including uniform is maintained at a high standard at all times.
  • High standards of personal hygiene are expected and required at all times.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures.
