Occupational Health Manager

Working for a global manufacturing company based in Suffolk, this is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health lead to support and drive maintenance and improvement of employee health, safety and wellbeing.
Your new role
You will advise management and employees on Occupational Health matters and look to prevent health problems developing that are related to their working environment. You will ensure Occupational Health policies adhere to the latest best practice, including publication and education to all employees where required, and consulting with union representatives.
As site lead, you will focus on minimising long-term absence, consistently applying procedures to address short-term absence, and promote healthy lifestyles. You will manage the rehabilitation and redeployment of employees who have restrictions on duties, working closely with the site occupational health nurse to meet business and employee needs.

You will contribute to site health & safety matters, including joint co-ordination of risk assessments including monitoring of the work environment, and providing advice and recommendations on health hazards and their effective control. You will identify and prioritise site health needs and develop and implement health promotion activities.

What you'll need to succeed Ideally, you will have obtained an Occupational Health Degree or diploma. You will have experience of a large manufacturing site with in excess of 500 employees. You will have proven experience of managing and reducing staff absence, writing and implementing policies on Occupational health matters.
