Semi-Senior Accountant
Location: Hitchin
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
My client is a friendly and growing accountancy firm, conveniently located just 5 minutes from Hitchin town centre. Their close-knit team of 4 partners and 7 staff work with a diverse range of clients, generally owner-managed businesses. They pride themselves on providing a great atmosphere for their team and fostering long-term relationships.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA) and eager to take the next step in their career. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks and gain exposure to a wide range of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts and tax returns for a variety of clients
- Preparing personal tax returns
- Assisting with audits
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping and filing VAT returns
- Reviewing the work of junior staff and providing guidance as needed
Key Requirements
- At least 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice
- Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA)
- Strong knowledge of year-end accounts, tax returns, and VAT filings
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
