My client are seeking a Management Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing month-end processes, preparing accurate Management Accounts, and providing Management Information for the organisation. This role requires a proactive individual who can act as a Finance Partner, supporting the setting of budgets, monitoring performance, and forecasting, while ensuring a high standard of controls and governance.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Prepare accurate monthly Management accounts & reports according to time schedules and tasks agreed.
  • Complete designated month-end and year-end journal adjustments, including accruals and prepayments.
  • Carry out assigned balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Prepare and post monthly box office and PRS journal and associated reconciliations.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and post gift aid journals.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and support budget holders in managing their budgets.
  • Prepare schedules for year-end statutory accounts for audit purposes and act as a point of contact with auditors.
  • Implement and manage a process for balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring completion within the required timescale.
  • Manage statutory/regulatory returns, ensuring they are completed and submitted on time.
  • Assist in maintaining the finance team control framework, including finance systems and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in preparing Management Accounts and supporting audit processes.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of VAT, FEU, and NSO returns is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in finance systems, ideally with experience in Exchequer or similar software.
