A well-established, family-run industrial environmental services business, with over 45 years of success and very low staff turnover, is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Manager due to growth within the business!

The company has earned several awards for innovation and growth and was most recently highly commended in the "New Business Award" category.

The role:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong electrical bias, ideally with expertise in both mobile and fixed plant equipment. The successful candidate will have a background in material handling and be capable of developing and implementing maintenance and spares strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of mobile and fixed plant machinery used in material handling operations.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring all equipment operates in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Create and manage spare parts inventories and procurement strategies to support continuous operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians and engineers, providing hands-on support when necessary.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to plant performance and maintenance activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Hands on Manager - Act as an electrical engineer also!
  • Proven experience in a Maintenance Management /Supervisory role ideally within a material handling environment.
  • Strong electrical skills and experience with both mobile and fixed plant machinery.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective maintenance strategies and spares management.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with material handling systems such as conveyors, forklifts, cranes, etc.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems would be a plus.

Full-time- Permanent:

  • Salary £40- 45k
  • Pension scheme and death in service cover
  • 33 days holiday! (25 days annual leave plus bank holidays)
  • Free on-site parking
  • Monday - Friday 7 am-4 pm
