Join a Housing Advisory Service as a Homeless Housing Coordinator and be a crucial part of the Early Help strategy.
In this role, you'll work within the Homeless Families & Singles Team to help applicants threatened with homelessness sustain their current accommodation or transition into suitable private rented housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to homeless applicants and key partners.
- Deliver specialist homelessness casework in line with legislation, strategies, policies, and initiatives.
- Utilize homelessness prevention tools and collaborate with partners to improve outcomes.
- Embed safeguarding best practices across the Housing Advisory Service.
- Assist in reducing the number of households in temporary accommodation by aiding them in challenging landlords and court possession orders.
- Contribute to the development of the Homeless Families & Singles Team and the wider Housing Advisory Service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Significant experience in specialist homelessness casework, particularly with complex needs.
- Consistent delivery of high levels of customer service.
- In-depth knowledge of welfare, homelessness reduction act, housing and homelessness policy, legislation, and case law.
- Experience in court proceedings and presenting cases.
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
