Corporate Account Manager

Posted by The Institution of Engineering & Technology.

  • Are you passionate about building strong partnerships and delivering business growth?
  • Do you excel at identifying opportunities and increasing member recruitment through strategic collaboration?
  • Could you be our next Corporate Account Manager?

At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. At the IET you'll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter.

What you'll be doing

As our Corporate Account Manager, you'll play a crucial role in driving the growth of our Corporate Partner network, identifying new business opportunities, and bringing on board new partners. You will be responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with key partner companies, ensuring their membership needs are met and aligning them with our strategic goals. Your focus will be on demonstrating the value of the IET's offerings, including our Central Payment Scheme, to secure new partnerships and expand existing ones.

You'll take a proactive approach in developing and executing business development strategies to recruit new Corporate Partners. This will involve prospecting and pitching to potential partners, showcasing the benefits of IET membership, and presenting tailored solutions that fit their organisational needs. You'll also work closely with our Senior Corporate Account Managers and wider sales team to meet membership recruitment targets and contribute to the overall success of the IET's corporate engagement strategy.

Additionally, you'll be responsible for managing and growing our Central Payment Scheme, ensuring partners fully understand the value it brings to their organisation. You'll collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless onboarding experience, helping new partners maximise the benefits of their relationship with the IET.

Regular UK-wide travel to meet clients and attend key meetings will be part of your role.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We're looking for someone with a strong background in business development, sales, or account management, particularly in a B2B or membership environment. You'll have a proven track record of finding and securing new business opportunities, building strong relationships, and negotiating successful deals. Experience in developing and executing sales strategies, especially within a professional membership body, will be highly beneficial.

You'll be a confident communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders and clearly articulate the benefits of IET membership and the Central Payment Scheme. Your ability to identify client needs and provide tailored solutions will be key to your success. Target-driven and results-oriented, you'll thrive on meeting sales targets and contributing to the overall growth of the IET's Corporate Partner network.

A proactive, collaborative team player, you'll also bring strong organisational skills, the ability to work independently, and a readiness to travel nationally. With good Microsoft Office and CRM skills, you'll be able to manage data effectively to track and report on your progress. Above all, you'll also bring enthusiasm, determination, and a commitment to driving business development for the IET.

We'd love to get to know you

Feeling unsure? Don't worry - we'd rather hear from you than not at all! We're open to discussing flexible working arrangements to help you do your best work.
