Deputy Transport Shift Supervisor RAF Brize Norton – OX18 3LX Full time Salary of £34,065.94 per annum including the 20% shift allowance 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off
At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services. RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet.
We have an exciting opportunity to join the team here at Brize Norton as a Deputy Transport Shift Supervisor. You will carry out supervision duties and taskings for drivers in the absence of the shift supervisor.
Main accountabilities:
- To assist the Ops Manager with the control and day to day operation in the unit.
- Ensure transport requests are satisfied
- Task, and within delegated authority, supervise allocated staff in their daily duties
- Monitor staff attendance and performance as required by the Ops and Deputy Transport Manager
- Ensure drivers are provided with all necessary supporting items of documentation and equipment to undertake the task
- Comply with, and operate the system to allocate correctly trained and qualified personnel, in appropriate vehicles, to satisfy transport requests.
- Ensure drivers are correctly briefed and have sufficient information to complete allocated task.
- Allocate resources to achieve task
- Ensure the legislative obligations of the Operator's Licence/s are fully complied with.
- Ensure all Company Policies and Directives relating to Road Transport and Dangerous Goods are fully complied with.
- Ensuring that all drivers are made aware of their legal obligations, insurance liabilities, ADR obligations, basic road safety and responsibilities for reporting accidents.
- Ensuring the area under your control fulfils its primary function through effective organisation to meet the allotted contractual tasks
- Ensure all employees are correctly trained and competent to undertake their duties in accordance with their core competencies.

What you'll need to do the role:
- Full Driving Licence Cat D & C (Desirable)
- Hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the issue of an Airfield Driving Permit.
