Prospero are supporting a children's residential home provider who are committed to providing unconditional care and education for children aged 8 to 17 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They have a 4-bedded home in Totton that offers a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive. They specialise in PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy to support our children's development and well-being. On the homes most recent inspection, the home achieved a Good with Outstanding elements, showing the strong position of the home to achieve an Outstanding on the next inspection.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Children's Home Manager to lead our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of children with SEMH needs, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and support. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and fostering a positive, therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a 4-bedded children's home, ensuring high standards of care and support.
  • Implement and uphold the principles of PACE and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and maintain a high quality of care.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Work towards an Outstanding OFSTED rating.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for all children.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager.
  • Experience of OFSTED inspections.
  • Qualification in Residential Childcare (Level 5 Diploma or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge and experience in working with children with SEMH needs.
  • Understanding of PACE and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality care and support.
  • Driver with access to a car.
