**Legal Accountant (Maternity Cover)

We are a well-established solicitors' firm based in Sittingbourne, currently seeking a Legal Accountant to join our team for a period of maternity cover. This role is ideal for a professional with a robust background in accounts within the legal sector.
**Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the financial systems and ensure compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
- Manage client and office accounts, including client funds and transactions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory financial reports.
- Liaise with auditors, providing necessary information for annual audits.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare financial statements, and manage bank reconciliations.
- Work closely with the legal team to ensure accurate billing and financial management of cases.
- Provide financial advice and support to partners and fee earners within the firm.
**Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an accountant within the legal sector.
- Strong understanding of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and legal financial compliance.
- Proficiency in legal accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
