Receptionist / General Assistant – £28,000 to £33,000 per annum + benefits

Based in Chichester, Private Medical Practice

Working as part of an established team and in an amazing and up-beat environment, we have an opening for an experienced and motivated Receptionist / Administrator / General Assistant to be front of house for our Private Medical and Cosmetic Practice based on the outskirts of Chichester. In this varied and diverse role, presentation, communication skills and personality fit is crucial, alongside the ability to maintain the highest standards in customer care which is top of our agenda.

Package – Receptionist / Administrator / General Assistant

Permanent, full time (part time applications will be considered) – salary up to £33,000 per annum (dependent upon experience); pension; usual working hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (Wednesday until 6pm); free onsite parking; 22 days annual leave plus statutory holidays.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities – Receptionist / Administrator / General Assistant (reporting to the Clinical Director)

  • Being front of house to meet and greet patients; taking customer payments
  • Making and receiving calls, emails and general correspondence; Maintaining appointments diaries for clinical team
  • Checking lab results and patient samples in line with practice guidelines
  • Have the relevant client files, paperwork ready for the consultants daily
  • Dealing with matters with tact and sensitivity, maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Delivering excellent customer service to our patients at all times
  • Assisting customers in the completion of necessary forms and other administration
  • Maintaining client files, and general secretarial and administrative duties for the practice
  • Making sure all public areas of the clinic are kept presentable and tidy
  • Acting as a chaperone as necessary during patient care – which may include being present and assisting with minor procedures – ALL training will be provided
  • *Longer term, you may wish to undertake specific training (which we will sponsor and support), if interested in qualifying formally in order to take patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight etc, and with phlebotomy skills too

Skills and other requirements – Receptionist / Administrator / General Assistant

  • Previous relevant reception, administration and people skills
  • To have worked in a similar environment helpful (medical, dental clinic) but not essential
  • Flexibility to work in this diverse role, and support and assist across the clinic as required
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to instil confidence and put people at ease
  • IT literacy (MSOffice) in order to update files and respond to requests for information etc
  • Superb organisational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • A positive, cheerful, can-do attitude with a high customer focus
