We are looking to recruit an a Facilities Assistant into the facilities department to assist with workloads and help improve resilience in this area.

The Benefits:

- Salary of circa £26,000
- Civil service pension, with an employer contribution rate of 27%
- Hybrid working, specific guidelines are to be agreed with line manager
- 26 days' holiday, rising to 29 days after two years' service, with the option to buy up to five days' extra annual leave

Key responsibilities, skills, and experience

The role holder will help to manage and monitor standards, processes, training requirements, systems and any planned maintenance to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health & Safety are adhered to.

The role holder must have strong organisation and planning skills and will be accountable for ensuring all meeting rooms meet the operational requirements of the Commission.

The role holder must work alongside the Facilities Manager and any other appointed contractor to ensure that all building maintenance is carried out in conjunction with the Commissions Health & Safety Policy.

The role holder will also be responsible for logging any maintenance issues as well as prioritising any work logged via the internal helpdesk system.

The role holder will be responsible for providing relevant Health & Safety training to employees in accordance with the Commissions Health & Safety policy.

The role holder will provide support to the Facilities Manager in ensuring that all appointed FM contractors deliver a high standard of service to the Gambling Commission.

The role holder will work constructively with external stakeholders to build effective relationships to ensure that the Commission's stationery supplies, staff consumables and IT consumables are stocked effectively, raising purchase orders where necessary in accordance with the Commissions procurement policy.

The role holder will ensure that cleaning standards are maintained throughout the Commission, escalating any issues to the cleaning contractor as well as maintaining the stock levels in all kitchen areas.

Person specification:

Essential:
- Full knowledge of activities and procedures of own job
- Basic understanding of how the team integrates with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area
- Provides on-the-job training/support to new team members
- Selects appropriate alternatives from defined options in a variety of work routines
- Small but direct impact through the quality of the tasks/service provided by the individual
