  • Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a leading specialist sub-contracting services provider. This role is a full-time opportunity based in our new, modern office and is pivotal in supporting our finance department. The ideal candidate will have experience in a senior finance role within an SME, or be looking to step up from a Management Accounts role in a larger company, or transitioning away from practice.

**Day to day of the role:

  • Oversee all financial control of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage month-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, work in progress (WIP), group company management charges, and P&L month-end reports.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital to optimise financial resources.
  • Prepare statutory returns and ensure directors receive accurate and timely management information.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage and mentor two finance team members.
  • Handle payroll, debt collection, and supplier payments.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support to external auditors.
  • Offer day-to-day IT support and liaise with external IT support companies.
  • Collaborate with directors and senior management to establish and improve effective processes and controls.

**Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACCA or CIMA part or fully qualified, or Qualified By Experience (QBE).
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with RedSky software.
  • Knowledge of HMRC tools for CIS and FPS submissions.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and liaise with various levels of the business.
  • Experience in the construction industry is advantageous but not essential.
