Quality Inspector

Position: Quality Inspector
Reporting To: Quality Manager
Location: Wolverhampton
Working Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break or 5:30pm with an hour lunch break, Monday-Friday
Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on relevant experience
Start Date: Immediate
Annual Holiday Entitlement: 22 days plus statutory bank holidays

Company: Customer-centric manufacturer of special fasteners, machined components, and associated products for the global energy industry, is expanding!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct material and component inspections, including goods received, first article, work in progress, and final inspections.
  • Perform roving inspections.
  • Create detailed inspection, dimensional, and hardness reports.
  • Maintain and perform internal calibration of gauges.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and despatch departments.
  • Liaise with customer and supplier inspection departments.
  • Occasionally travel for off-site inspections.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in using metrology equipment such as thread gauges, micrometers, caliper gauges, profile projectors, and thread micrometers.
  • Experience in hardness testing and using XRF analysers.
  • Skilled in surface comparator and plating/coating inspection.
  • Familiarity with certification for metallic materials and sampling plans.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Previous experience in the special fastener industry is desirable but not essential.
