The Company hiring a Group Accountant

A Group Accountant is sought by this truly leading global £multi-billion turnover leading global legal group. Operating within the UK, Europe, US and AsiaPac markets, they have developed an enviable reputation for outstanding client service and delivering innovative specialist products and unique solutions. Continued growth has resulted in the need for a bright graduate qualified ACA or ACCA ideally from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm, to assume a high-profile group financial accounting role, your remit is to support the CFO in the provision of financial reporting and advice.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Accountant

  • Conduct quarterly analytical reviews of financial outcomes, delivering comprehensive commentary for senior management
  • Oversee the evaluation and submission process for office bad debt provisions
  • Determine foreign exchange gains and losses for the period, providing an executive summary to the Group Financial Controller
  • Compile preliminary group financial results for the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Committee
  • Collaborate with Partners and Revenue teams to provide Work-In-Progress / WIP valuations on a biannual basis
  • Work closely with the group tax teams to convert LLP accounts for tax purposes
  • Ensure accurate calculation of rates allocated across shared matters
  • Draft commentary and specific notes for the Group Financial Statements
  • Track new leases and extensions, offering guidance as necessary

Skills & Attributes of the Group Accountant

  • Qualified accountant (ideally ACA or ACCA form an international group or accounting firm)
  • Confidence to liaise with all levels of a large international group
  • Extremely organised and able to prioritise and manage workload
  • Demonstrable experience of routine company reporting
  • Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS16 being advantageous
  • Prior experience with Tableau and SAP is desirable but not essential

Although initially a 12-month FTC, opportunities are likely to arise or be created for a strong performer.
