We are currently recruiting for both Primary and Secondary SEN (Special Educational Needs) teaching assistant positions starting this September.
Role Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs across primary and secondary schools in Coventry. This full-time role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and making a positive impact on young people's lives, particularly those requiring additional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of SEN students
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs
- Help manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
- Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Support students with their academic and personal development
- Help with phonics for early years (if applicable)
- Perform other classroom duties as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Some experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN
- SEN experience
- Classroom experience is advantageous but not essential
- Phonics experience for early years teaching assistant positions is beneficial
- Willing to learn and adapt to different educational environments
- Holds a current DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and reliable
