We are recruiting for Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP) 1 trained crime investigator to join a police team based in Preston support the investigation of vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities

Provide evidence that supports the investigation and prosecution of suspects involved in the alleged abuse; by examining the digital, visual, and audio content of relevant media.

Key skills/Qualifications

  • PIP1 or equivalent with recent experience of investigating serious crime
  • Level 1 of the Public Protection Learning Programme (PPLP) or be prepared to work towards and complete within 12 months from commencement in role.
  • CAID User Training (prepared to work towards and complete within 3 months from commencement in role.)
  • College of policing national Categorising IIOC – Grading / CAID Awareness or be prepared to work towards and complete within 3 months from commencement in role.
  • CAID National Adjudicators Course or prepared to work towards and complete within 3 months from commencement in role.
  • College of Policing / NCA-CEOP Victim ID course or be prepared to work towards and complete within 6 months from commencement in role.
  • Experience of using software to sanitise images and produce images in a format suitable for onward secure transportation.
  • Good IT skills with the ability to learn and effectively utilise new systems in order to extract and analyse data to progress/record investigations.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

This is temporary role is for an initial 6 – 9 months (until 31/03/2025), working full-time paying between £15.48 per hour PAYE.
