Sales Account Manager

We are a well-established digital and print publishing company who are seeking a Sales Account Manager to join our current sales team. We are an international enterprise supplying into 150 countries across all five major continents and our head office is based in Farnham. Our clients vary from blue chip companies to smaller SME's. You would join a team of 30 plus employees and be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. Our publications are primarily aimed at the energy and construction sector and are recognised worldwide.

In return we offer a salary of up to £30k basic with an OTE of approx. £40k. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm with 25 days holiday, free parking, and pension scheme. Working from home opportunities (2 days a month) as well as paid business travel worldwide, approx. 6 - 8 times per year to meet with prospective and existing customers as well as visit several relevant international trade shows and conferences.

The role is very much account management and maximising the sales potential from existing clients with very little new business involved. The role will focus on building key relationships and promoting and selling advertising space, digital/website products and event sponsorship for our magazines. You will work closely with other members of the team for the continued development of the magazines, websites, and events/conferences.

Working in a sales team of 8 professionals across all title publications, the Sales Account Manager will join a warm desk whereby they will be given a customer base of established customers. The main duties will involve:

  • Managing a portfolio of accounts
  • Maintaining the sales database
  • Completing competitive monitoring tasks
  • Contacting and selling to new and existing customers.
  • Attending meetings with clients
  • Managing repeat business
  • Researching new business opportunities
  • Email marketing activities
  • Engaging in project management duties
  • General administration
  • Attending internal weekly meetings
  • Visiting clients both UK based and abroad

To be suitable for the Sales Account Executive role you will have a desire to work in a Sales/Account Management role and have an interest in publishing. You will ideally be of graduate calibre and have some proven experience in a Sales/Account Management and or Business Development role. Candidates must be presentable, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and good in a team environment. Happy in office environment being mainly office based with a willingness to travel abroad. Minimum age 25 with full driving license (age required for car hire in Europe/USA).
