Are you a caring and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in Barnet?
We're seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a lovely Year 2 pupil with brittle bones disease. The role involves providing 1:1 support throughout the school day, ensuring the child's safety, comfort, and access to learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting safe movement around the classroom and school
- Assisting with personal care and physical needs, as required
- Using hoist equipment where necessary (if trained)
- Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities
- Promoting independence and confidence for the pupil
- Maintaining clear communication with parents and staff regarding progress and wellbeing
Requirements
To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
- Experience working in a primary school or SEN setting
- Either manual handling training or hoist training (essential)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Excellent communication skills
- An understanding of safeguarding and health & safety procedures
