Audit Accountant

An exciting career opportunity for a qualified Accountant to join a successful and growing Fintech business in Southampton.You will work closely with the Reporting & Performance and other Finance team members within Finance and assist with technical accounting, regulatory and statutory reporting.

This role requires an individual with strong technical accounting skills and an eye for detail, who can understand reporting requirements and liaise effectively with internal and external partners to help deliver statutory, regulatory and lender reporting to an excellent standard.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Assist with preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly facility reporting for financial backers.
  • Assist with preparing FCA returns required for group entities.
  • Key contributor to external audit work streams.
  • Assist with statutory reporting requirements, preparing financial statements at individual entity and consolidated level for all group companies under both FRS102 and IAS.
  • Assist with technical accounting projects, investigating options on accounting treatment, providing recommendations, and delivering any required process or reporting changes,liaising with all relevant internal and external parties as appropriate.
  • Assist with year-end processes including, but not limited to, year- end journals, audit deliverables.
  • Assist with management reporting and analytics.
  • Assist with internal audit reviews as required.
  • To undertake any other ad hoc activities as requested.

Candidate Profile

  • A qualified accountant with strong academics, relevant work experience and a track record in
  • delivering statutory reporting and or regulatory reporting, ideally within financial services oraudit.
  • Strong competency in reporting requirements under FRS102 andIAS.
  • Ability to liaise with colleagues, external partners, auditors and independent advisers to recommend technical approach and assist on delivery of any process and/or reporting changes.
  • An enquiring mind, keen to develop and grow and strong attention to detail with the ability to think strategically.
  • Apply a business partnering and critical questioning approach across all business activities.
  • Working knowledge of IAS39 and IFRS9 is an advantage.
  • Understanding/experience of debt reporting an advantage.
  • Experience with NetSuite an advantage.
