Part Time: 21/hrs a week (7 to 2.30pm or 2 to 9pm)

Job Summary:

The Residential Support Worker provides compassionate and effective support to individuals within a residential setting. Working directly with residents who may have varying needs, including mental health issues, disabilities, or substance use challenges, the Residential Support Worker fosters a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. This role includes supporting residents in their daily routines, promoting independence, assisting with personal care, and implementing individualized support plans to help residents achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Resident Support:

Build trusting relationships with residents to support their emotional, social, and physical needs.

Assist residents in personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and hygiene, when necessary.

Encourage and support residents to participate in community activities, educational programs, and employment.

Individualized Support Planning:

Develop and implement personalized care plans, updating regularly to reflect each resident's progress and evolving needs.

Work collaboratively with other support team members and professionals to assess and monitor residents' well-being.

Encourage residents' independence and support their journey toward personal goals, skills development, and self-care.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum [High School Diploma / NVQ Level 2 / Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent]. Relevant certification in social work, counseling, or mental health support is a plus.

Experience:

Previous experience working in a residential care setting or with individuals requiring additional support (e.g., those with disabilities, mental health needs, or addiction issues).

Skills:

Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Basic understanding of mental health, substance abuse, and disability support.

Certifications: [First Aid Certification, Medication Administration Training, etc. as required].
