Senior GIS/Geospatial Consultant

This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior GIS professional to join an innovative data led solutions provider at a time of significant growth. As a Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative GIS & Geospatial solutions and delivering complex data orientated technical projects to deliver outstanding outcomes.

For success in this role will need to have excellent technical GIS and data expertise (integration & insight) and a proven track record of customer engagement & delivery, have enthusiasm to drive solution delivery and increase reputation and capabilities in geospatial and FME space.

Selection of responsibilities:

  • Lead role on the delivery of technical projects: understand & capture customer needs, scope, design, develop and implement solutions - based on FME, geospatial data analytics, data management and data integration.
  • Design, develop and implement cutting edge data solutions based on automation, geospatial data analytics, data integration, and data science to produce meaningful insights from data and improve decision making.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to gather and evaluate requirements to deliver integrated GIS/Geospatial solutions and outcome-based innovations Pre-sales support: participating in early-stage client engagement activities and creation of proof-of-concept solutions.
  • Writing formal technical, functional and user documentation for acceptance by third parties.
  • Proactively Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and developing innovative data products and offerings.

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in scoping and delivery of geospatial (or data-centric) projects and solutions.
  • Experienced in being the technical lead in data integration and solutions development. Involving automating complex technical workflows, spatial ETL, spatial analytics, spatial data collection, validation, and management including data standards and metadata.
  • Exeperience operating within a Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Strong database development knowledge: database design, schemas, metadata, data versioning, updates, and data standards (PostGIS or other database systems)
  • Interface with GIS team member and third party providers to drive ongoing development and implementation of standards for day-to-day GIS and data analytics / management
  • Support, mentor and assist the team in improving geospatial data collection, analysis, visualisation, and management.
  • Qualified in GIS, geospatial, data science, software engineering, other relevant disciplines, or equivalent evidence of continued professional development.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Creative thinker leading and driving technical excellence and innovation.
  • Experience using Safe Software FME Form (Desktop) with a proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining workspaces - desirable
  • Further tech skills advantageous but NOT essential: GeoServer, Python, QGIS, MapInfo Pro, Power BI
