Warehouse Supervisor

Warehouse Supervisor You will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the warehouse. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of people within the warehouse function, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety, and standard operating procedures. Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the warehouse.

Position Details Reports to: Operations Manager

Business Location: Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and undertake daily warehouse activities including receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods and securing the warehouse
  • Manage, lead, engage and develop your team identifying individual strengths, skills, experience and aspirations to motivate and ensure delivery of the required levels of performance
  • To lead the recruitment of any role within your team, selecting the best candidate to deliver the required performance levels, ensuring an effective and efficient recruitment and onboarding process is followed
  • To manage individuals within your team in regard to sickness absence, conflict and occasions of misconduct - supporting, investigating and escalating in a timely manner
  • Communicate expectations and monitor the performance of your team, identifying training and development needs • Allocate tasks within the warehouse to ensure the daily workload can be carried out to achieve the warehouse KPI's
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods
  • Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of products meets customers timescales/requirements
  • Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company's procedures and requirements
  • Identify errors and eliminate root cause through corrective action • Identify areas of improvement and adjust existing work procedures and practices where required
  • Deliver warehouse efficiencies
  • Lead the team to maintain a clean and tidy warehouse at all times
  • Review resources to ensure maximum productivity
  • Manage warehouse consumable stock levels
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of warehousing activities
  • Ensure Health and Safety is at the forefront of all operations, and that Health and Safety policies are adhered to
  • Maintain documentation and keep accurate records of warehouse activities
  • Interface with other departments to coordinate activities, answer questions or solve problems Requirements and skills
  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
  • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data
  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Qualification in logistics, supply chain management or business administration

Fork Lift Truck experience preferable.
