Financial Accountant

Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain the Fixed Asset register, including monthly depreciation journals.
- Manage the Capex budget.
- Maintain and process monthly journals for provisions, accruals, and prepayments.
- Manage petty cash and approval of Monthly Management Accounts.
- Conduct month-end close down and reconciliations on Sage.
- Maintain detailed Management Accounts reports for actual performance and forecasts & budgets.
- Manage forecasting and budget processes, managing costs, and explaining variances.
- Perform monthly checks and reconciliations.
- Handle quarterly returns and reconciliations on Sage, including submission to HMRC.
- Conduct revenue reconciliation to VAT return monthly for auditors.
- Prepare for and assist with the annual audit, managing the audit process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Complete command of all aspects of financial and cost accounting disciplines.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Stock Control, Forex, and Tax.
- Excellent attention to detail, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective time management and ability to work proactively as a self-starter.
- 3-5 years of cost and financial accounting experience in a Wholesale environment.
- Experience in budget preparation and both management and financial reporting.
