ICT Service Delivery Technician Apprenticeship - Battersea Power Station

Purpose of the Role

As the ICT Service Delivery Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the ITC Service Delivery Manager in delivering the Landlords and Managing Agents IT Infrastructure across the Battersea Power Station. Support the availability and use of ITC systems by commercial, retail and residential occupiers along with the management of our key partners and suppliers. The role holder will responsible for the ITC support function for the Managing Agent for the BPS operational environment ensuring office and network equipment is connected and supported.

The postholder will work towards

  • A broad knowledge of ITC support for desktop equipment including PC's, printers and mobile devices, as well as hardware and software installation.
  • Understanding of VLANs and network patching for converged networks along with an understanding of WiFi SSIDs and WiFi security.
  • Supporting applications for office and meeting room set ups and raise and follow up with 3rd party IT providers resolving open tickets on network issues.
  • Effectively troubleshooting in house network issues such as satellite TV, building management systems and intercom issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ITC Service Delivery Manager ensuring service partners and support services meet business requirements, are delivered in line with recognised industry good practice and are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure continuous service improvement.
  • "Hands and eyes on site" Desktop support for PC's, Printer and mobile devices across the estate Concierge, Security Management suite to complement the services provided by Modern Networks
  • Hardware and Software installations
  • Develop an understanding and appreciation of various elements of the Property Estate Management function at Battersea Power Station Estate
  • Assist 3rd parties on site for tech room visits such as ISP's, Residential, commercial and Retailers networks, Parking networks and security systems.
  • Ensuring network connections work effectively and are configured to meet requirements, working closely with Ideal Networks
  • Ad-hoc support for the Office Manager and Commercial Property Manager (50 EB) to facilitate visitor requests and meetings incl. AV systems and specialist access systems/applications
  • Following up with 3rd parties IT providers on open tickets requiring intervention and acting as point of contact for Ideal Networks for any networking related changes requested
  • Monitoring and supporting the effective operation of the BPS Converged Network systems - Wi-Fi, DAS (mobile network), PMRS, Satellite TV, telephone systems & footfall analytics and other systems as required
  • Support effective relationships with suppliers to secure best value for ICT goods and services, and to encourage innovative ideas to be adopted
  • Support the equipment lifecycle management, present transition, and Estate upgrade plans for Converged Network systems
  • Ensure ICT systems are secure and resilient, carrying out proactive maintenance (e.g. patching) and ensuring processes and configurations are clearly documented
  • Supporting the ITC Service Delivery Manager, Head of Technical Services, Managing Agent and Client teams with ITC Mobilisation requirements
  • Maintain Hardware Asset Register detailing ICT equipment, and identify, analyse and manage associated information risks. Keep technical documentation up to date.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • The ideal candidate will have a logical mindset able to work through fault resolution of issues in a methodical manner
  • They will be enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills and knowledge, with the confidence to approach IT issues without prior experience
  • Be able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and be friendly and approachable in order to forge a new network of contacts as the role involves exposure to a vast range of people both within the Battersea site and 3rd party contractors
  • Friendly and approachable with the ability to relay complex technical information to non technical stakeholders

This is an IT Apprenticeship role aligned to Level 3 Training Course "Information Communications Technician" with the focus on the Networking pathway.

Working Hours - Mon – Fri: 9:00 to 17:30. FTC 17 Months.

  • Relevant study leave given from these hours as required as part of the Apprenticeship scheme.
