The role

If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you at United Utilities (UU) as a Commercial Business Analyst in Warrington, Cheshire.

As a Commercial Business Analyst, you will manage the day-to-day spend analytics and business intelligence requirements, supporting the Market, Sourcing and Supplier Collaboration teams in their savings & benefits opportunity assessments, strategic decision making and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also collaborate with commercial experts to tackle challenges unique to our industry and, through utilising your skills and experience, will contribute significantly to our success and help UU achieve our goals.

In joining us, you will have full exposure to the organisation, our major contracts and our largest industry partners. Stakeholder engagement is vital for this role. You will therefore need to build strong working relationships, manage key internal and external stakeholders effectively and provide expert advice to our contractors and the wider enterprise.

In-person site attendance in Lingley Mere, Warrington is required three days per week to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, alongside some travel to other sites in the North West and flexible hours to support work-life balance. Key accountabilities

  • Conduct in-depth spend analysis to uncover savings opportunities and support the Commercial team's savings targets.
  • Maintain and enhance the Commercial team's balanced scorecard with key performance metrics.
  • Respond swiftly to analytics requests from Market, Sourcing, and Supplier Collaboration teams for savings assessments.
  • Oversee the implementation of low-risk digital technology investments and support significant digital technology initiatives.
  • Regularly update SAP spend category taxonomy and supplier data for accurate spend and trend analysis.

Skills & experience
To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience using spending/analytices platforms/systems such as; Tableau, Power BL, Exasol, Alteryx or similar
  • Demonstrable stakeholder management and/or business partnering experience with internal and external teams
  • Educated to a Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Engineering degree standard OR equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
