Job Overview:

A reputable and dynamic Primary school in Islington is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates aspiring to build a career in education, with hands-on experience in a vibrant and supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons across various subjects and year groups.
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help with understanding and engagement.
  • Work with students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they have access to the curriculum and are fully included in classroom activities.
  • Help with lesson preparation, including setting up classroom resources and materials.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on students' progress and behaviour.
  • Supervise students during break times, school trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to teaching and the classroom.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Recent graduate with a strong academic background (Degree required, Education-related fields desirable but not essential).
  • Passionate about working with young people and committed to making a difference in their educational journey.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid) is preferred.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable to the changing needs of the classroom.
  • Previous experience working in a school environment is advantageous but not essential.
