Part Time Financial Controller

Part Time Financial Controller, £18.68 - £20.87ph, 18-hour week

Do you have previous experience at a senior level with a depth of knowledge in accounts? Would you like to work for a local charity within the creative sector?

You will be responsible for the smooth running of all financial operations within the organisation, preparation of the monthly financial review and providing financial support and advice to budget holders alongside leading the financial discipline across the organisation.

Additional hours can be required in January, November and December. All additional hours are agreed with the CEO. Additional hours up to 35 hours per week are paid at the normal rate.

Skills Required:

  • Ideally Part or fully CIMA/ACA/AAT/ACCA qualified
  • Experience of working on sage is advantageous
  • Preparation of year end accounts
  • Budget management
  • Depth of knowledge with accounts
  • Ability to work towards deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all the organisation's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
  • Ensure compliance with all accounting, tax and legal requirements
  • Account for VAT, prepare and submit all relevant returns at the correct times.
  • Manage the Audit process and liaise with the Auditors
  • Management of one staff member
  • Process all payments, including foreign currency payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and project budgets
  • Preparation of the monthly financial review and management of the annual budget with the CEO.
  • Provide and interpret financial information and reports as requested
  • Other duties include insurance, submit and review payroll information, additional tasks of a financial, accounting and administrative nature as requested by the Chief Executive.
  • Contribute to the leadership and share responsibility for the well-being and management of the organisation.

In return you will be offered:

  • Salary £34,000 - £38,000 FTE
  • Office hours 18 hours over Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday
  • Annual leave 6.6 weeks pro rate including bank holidays
