Day to day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality DT lessons to students aged 11-16.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the school's procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by school policy.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole school training events.
- Plan and prepare courses and lessons, following the school's curriculum and teaching guidelines.
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes a passion for Design Technology.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Excellent subject knowledge in Design Technology.
- Proven ability to motivate students and achieve excellent results.
- Strong organisational and ICT skills.
- Capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team and to lead effectively.
- A passion for DT and the ability to inspire and share this with young people.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
