We are seeking a reliable and diligent Goods In Operative in Wickford. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling heavy goods, particularly raw metal, and will be IT literate. Holding a forklift licence is highly desirable. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming goods to ensure they meet quality and quantity specifications.
- Accurately log deliveries and update inventory management systems.
- Safely handle and store raw materials, particularly heavy metal goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety regulations.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to the Warehouse Manager.
- Assist with periodic inventory audits and stock checks.
- Operate forklifts to move materials around the warehouse.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a warehouse or goods-in role, particularly with heavy lifting and raw metal.
- Hold a Valid forklift licence.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks.
