Our client, a Food Industry Trade Association, is looking for a Committees Manager for their offices in Central London with hybrid working.

Would suit those with experience in a similar committee's management role from either a trade association, professional body, government, think tank, food business, dairy, meat, agriculture, farming background.

Key Responsibilities of the Committees Manager

To deliver essential elements of member services by resolving trade queries and problems promptly and communicating policy changes clearly in a timely manner so businesses can grow through effective planning.

To ensure committees and secretariats function well and to communicate their activities and decisions.

To deliver relevant and accurate market analysis to further businesses' growth strategies.

To keep members updated on trade policy matters and strategic responses to them.

To support the development of the member offer to further its strategy and growth plans.

To liaise between members, UK and potentially international governments and other official bodies to resolve trade queries and problems in a timely fashion as they arise.

To understand and help shape and communicate policy developments, including new or modified international trade agreements, to members and provide guidance based on them.

To attend any necessary government and trade working groups in pursuit of the first two tasks and convey all relevant content to the rest of the core team and members where necessary.

To manage the annual Goat Dairy Trade survey.

To prepare weekly bacon market reports, bacon statistics and other data for circulation to members.

To collate a range of dairy prices on a weekly basis and ensure the Dairy Market Report is in a suitable form for despatch to members.

To manage the collection of trade statistics for selected provisions (meat and dairy) and their monthly despatch to members.

To manage the collection of statistics for yogurt KPIs and retail butter

To pinpoint and cultivate Government and business contacts to further the above aims.

To help organise dairy and pork committee meetings, issuing and confirming agendas and virtual meeting links in advance, organising room facilities on the day, taking minutes of the meetings and distributing those to all committee members.

To assist the team in performing secretariate duties for the Specialist Cheesemakers Association, organise its meetings, disseminate minutes, prepare a quarterly published newsletter and an annual farm visit for the SCA.

To keep the website's content up to date and assist with communications to members via email, social media and multi-media tools.

To support and advise the rest of the team on policy and market developments.

To support the rest of the core team in providing ideas for developing the organisation's strategy, growth and member offer.

To identify, approach and recruit new members, alongside the rest of the team.

To survey members on satisfaction with services.

To brief the Director General and other colleagues as required on issues within area of responsibility.

To assist with general administration of business and such other duties from time to time as required.
