Head of Housing Property Services

We are looking for an Interim Head of Housing Property Services to lead the Councils Housing Property Service. The successful candidate will ensure strategic focus, meet business and financial objectives, and place excellent customer service at the core of delivery. This role involves the delivery of Housing Reactive Repairs and Planned Maintenance work programmes and taking full responsibility for performance monitoring and quality assurance.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Lead the delivery of planned programmes of work to the Council's Housing Stock and Adult Social Care properties.
- Client the delivery of the Housing Reactive Repairs and Planned Maintenance work programme.
- Develop policy, standards, and new initiatives for future sustainability of the service.
- Ensure service remains at the forefront of sector innovation and good practice.
- Accountable for tenant and corporate client engagement, decision making, and consultation.
- Provide a comprehensive property design, contract letting, and project management service.
- Develop the Housing Asset Management Strategy and associated Asset Management Plan.
- Lead on-site quality assurance and cost control of new build programmes.
- Identify opportunities for stock rationalisation and development.
- Prioritise Health and Safety related risks and develop commercialisation projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Chartered status with RICS or CIOB, or a Registered Architect.
- Senior management experience within the construction sector.
- Proven project management experience and ability to lead continuous improvement practices.
- Experience managing resources and multiple budgets, including a trading account or commercial construction operation.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as Health & Safety at Work, CDM, Party Wall Act, etc.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
