Group FP&A Manager

Role Summary

The Interim Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will be an integral member of the team responsible for managing the Group's reporting and planning function. The Group's FP&A function delivers best-in-class financial plans and provides insight for management to make effective and informed decisions.

The role sits at the centre of Equiniti's transformation programme; simplifying and standardising financial information; automating processes; creating best in class finance systems; with a purpose to create insight, help run our business more effectively and to act with speed and agility to enable the organisation to react to ever changing market conditions.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Financial Planning & Analysis Director and also partner with the Group CFO, PE owners, divisional Finance Directors and Business Partners and the Financial Control team.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly reporting processes, including reporting to the executive leadership team and board reporting.
  • Manage delivery of the Group's budget and forecast processes; ensuring adherence to detailed timetables and delivery
  • Manage the preparation of quarterly external reports to lenders and investors.
  • Use financial data and models to support management decision making
  • Cash flow forecasting, reporting and analysis.
  • Working capital analysis to improve cash performance.
  • Assist with the management and administration the Group's planning tool, Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Provide leadership for the FP&A team and be proactive in identifying opportunities to drive positive change.
  • Partner with Financial Control to assist with completion of statutory reporting cycles.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

  • Strong business partnering skills, with experience of being a critical strategic partner to the C-Suite colleagues.
  • The Group is complex and the candidate needs to have the intellectual ability to analyse, think widely, see connections and interdependencies and be able to provide insightful analysis.
  • This role needs to be able to plan and take actions to drive outcomes that improve margin and overall financial performance of the group. Observing and reporting issues is no good.
  • The candidate needs to work through what current trends and actions mean and what changes are needed to strategy and plans
  • Communicate in an engaging and effective way, recognising "less is more", influencing and supporting critical executive decision making.
  • An ability to see/think ahead, assessing all demands and then plan and prioritise.
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience using Workday Adaptive Planning or other planning systems (advantageous).
  • Experience of working in a PE backed business and dealing with PE analysts/queries.
  • 5+ years' experience in FP&A or commercial finance roles, preferably in a blue-chip company.
  • Demonstrable experience using financial information to improve business efficiency, leading to improved revenue generation and margins.
  • Experience leading budget and forecast cycles (in businesses with significant investment programmes would be advantageous).
  • Comfortable working within a complex and fast-moving organisation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident enough to deputise for Group FP&A Director when required.
  • Experience with building financial models.
  • Strong PC Skills - Excel, PowerPoint and planning systems.
  • Ability to coach and inspire other less experienced team members
