Shift Manager PM Shift

An opportunity to join a leading Steel Stockholder and Service Company in BD12 as a Dynamic Shift Manager covering the PM shift over a 4 day week. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for overseeing and optimising all aspects of warehouse operations. Your primary duties will include managing staff schedules, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving productivity to meet company goals. You will also collaborate with various departments to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage shifts within company policies, focusing on Health & Safety, training, and compliance.
  • Drive performance improvement with strategic initiatives, optimizing workflow processes.
  • Ensure prompt fulfilment of customer requirements, coordinating shift activities.
  • Oversee training, ensuring completion of mandatory training, and monitor expiry dates.
  • Maintain high operational standards, conducting quality checks, and enforcing procedures.
  • Facilitate efficient receipt and dispatch of materials, contributing to streamlined operations.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, promote safe practices, and actively participate in continuous improvement.
  • Assist in resource planning, ensuring effective allocation of personnel.
  • Support Operations Department, handling tasks like managing incoming materials and verifying certificates.
  • Collaborate with the QESH Manager in quality checks and maintaining a robust quality management system.
  • Manage stock control and traceability effectively, implementing inventory best practices.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Proficient in safe working practices with environmental administration experience.
  • Knowledgeable in modern manufacturing techniques, including Lean manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading shifts with safety, productivity, and discipline excellence.
  • Experience in Slinging & Crane Handling is desirable.
  • Hold an up-to-date Forklift Truck Licence & Side Loader Certificate.
  • Professional and discreet conduct, ability to multitask, manage workload, and work under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Salary and Working Hours:

£36,000- £38,500 (DOE) + company performance bonus

Monday – Thursday: 10.30am to 9.00pm

Discretionary bonus, Cycle2Work Scheme, Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice, free on-site parking.

Holiday 20+B/H
