Job Purpose:
Oversee production activities on the night shift. Ensuring all personnel adhere to Health and Safety procedures. Support the existing teams to ensure the smooth running of the shifts.
The Role:
Managing a team of 100+ personnel
Ensure all staff are working safely and adhering to the company Health and Safety Policies
Monitor absence and punctuality, coordinating labor issues to ensure production targets are achieved
Induct all new starters including agency workers
Report issues on the shift to the day shift managers when they arrive to the site
KPI management
Understanding the escalation procedure for any major incidents or problems
Liaise and engage with manufacturing colleagues to create a culture of continuous improvement and self-awareness of performance.
Delivering team briefs and best practice information
Work with key stakeholders and other departments to deliver change and improvement
The Candidate:
Experienced Production Manager from a FMCG business
Operational Supervisor / Management experience is essential
IOSH Health and Safety Certificate - desirable
Hands-on Management style
Good presentation and communication skills
Proven experience in performance management and the first stages of a disciplinary procedure
Data analytical decision-maker
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques
