Graduate Technical Design Engineer
Location: Wokingham
Contract: Permanent – Immediate start
Salary: £23,000 to £25,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Our client, a well-established security company based in Wokingham with over six decades of industry experience, is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their technical team as a Graduate Technical Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
As a Graduate Technical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet the highest standards of functionality, performance, and reliability. Your expertise will be crucial in driving projects from concept to completion. Whilst in the role you will be learning in real time from colleagues and management how to succeed designing for an industry titan.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new products.
- Assist in improving existing products and managing drawing changes.
- Code products and create bills of materials for custom orders.
- Liaise with customers and internal departments.
- Perform occasional assembly/production tasks and possible on-site visits.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Qualification in mechanical engineering, product design, or electrical engineering (ONC, HNC, or Degree).
- Creativity, logical thinking, and a practical approach with a keen interest in technology.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage costs while ensuring quality, longevity, and customer reliability.
- Collaborative team player.
- Ability to interface with sales and marketing to deliver product information.
- Experience with 3D CAD design.
- Organised and tidy.
- Proactive, driven, and dynamic with a can-do attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, and team spirit.
