We are seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic Head of Finance, Performance & Business Transformation to join our Adults & Health Directorate. This pivotal role involves leading our Adult Care Finance and Performance teams, offering a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction and enhance the quality of our services. Ideal candidates will have substantial Local Authority finance experience, preferably within Adult Social Care, and a passion for leadership and service improvement.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the finance and performance monitoring teams, developing strategies to deliver exceptional services to residents.
- Service Management: Oversee the design and development of service specifications and delivery methods, ensuring integration and collaboration across services.
- Financial Oversight: Manage financial resources, including Council budgets and funding streams, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement systems to assure the quality of commissioned services, focusing on outcomes and measurable standards.
- Team Leadership: Provide inspiring leadership to teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the council in various forums, collaborating with health sector partners and other key stakeholders to ensure cohesive service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold a professional accountancy qualification.
- Substantial leadership experience at a senior level within a complex organisation, preferably in Local Authority finance.
- Exceptional management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively.
- Strong leadership qualities with a proven track record of driving service improvement and strategic change.
- Deep understanding of financial management, performance metrics, and regulatory compliance within public sector services.
