**Workshop Manager

Location: Swansea

Salary: £45,000

This company is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their team. As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and resources of a workshop covering plant and HGV vehicle maintenance. You will have strong leadership qualities and proven experience of leading a team of mechanical operatives. You will also be responsible for stock and procurement, maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Planning and managing the maintenance and servicing of the fleet and plant, ensuring vehicles comply with all statutory regulations.
  • Maintaining depot plant and equipment, ensuring all external contract maintenance is carried out in line with contractual agreements.
  • Managing staff including performance and absence management.
  • Managing the maintenance and reliability of the machinery and infrastructure.
  • Developing and delivering upgrades to engineering systems and processes.
  • Induction of new employees.
  • Quality checking.
  • Developing, designing, and maintaining procedures for the workshop.
  • Organising holidays and shift cover.
  • Supervising the maintenance of vehicles in the workshop.
  • Carry out maintenance or fitting to deputise as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the Workshop.

  • Able to lead with confidence
  • A strong communicator who is approachable with good people management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and able to interact with people at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work and decision make under pressure.
  • Must hold a UK Driving License.
  • Prepared to do extra hours as required
  • Computer literate.
