Mapped Recruitment is delighted to be working with a SME retail/e-commerce organisation on their search for their No1 in finance role (Head of Finance) . This role is ideal for a candidate who has worked within the consumer industry and passionate about adding value within a SME organisation with international growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting into the Managing Director supervising a team of two (Finance Manger & Finance Assistant)
- Drive cash management process, providing payment approvals and overseeing cashflow forecasts.
- Tracking cash flow and analysing the company's financial weaknesses
- Responsible for generation of Management/Board reports, providing accurate balance sheet and cashflow information
- Ensure a robust financial control environment with strong internal controls
- Lead the month-end close process
- Liaise with external auditors
- Overseeing US sales tax and EU VAT compliance.
- Plan and lead the year-end statutory audit process.
- Develop budgets
- Review and advise on future acquisitions and investments.
- Leading the senior team on long-term financial and business planning
- Overseeing payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in a similar finance role within a consumer, e-commerce, wholesale or retail environment
- Xero experience will be advantageous
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent QBE
- Exceptional communication skills for board meetings/business partnering with key stakeholders and investors
- Experience within SME environments/happy to be involved with a breadth of duties
This role is based in Newcastle and offers Hybrid working (ideally a minimum of 3 days a week in the office)
