Fundraising Communications and Database Officer - Heritage Site / Charity - £32k to £34k + excellent benefits - Central SW London

This historical heritage site is looking for a Fundraising Communications and Database Officer. This charitable organisation, set within beautiful grounds and steeped in history, is expanding its marketing and using supporter data to inform strategy and drive more sophisticated and personalised Fundraising, marketing and communications, with appropriate use of AI. With new expansion and restoration, it is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of new ventures within this historic charity.

The Fundraising Communications and Database Officer, will be a detail-oriented and proactive person. They will manage the donor database, ensure compliance with GDPR, and support various Fundraising and communication initiatives. The Fundraising Communications Officer will be responsible for all financial record keeping and management including batching of donations and gift aid administration. This role requires a blend of technical, administrative, and creative skills an excellent eye for detail and strong financial acumen.

SALARY ETC:

  • £32,000 to £34,000
  • Excellent Pension scheme, Up to 30 days of holiday (starting at 25 days) plus bank holidays, Discounts in the cafe and on-site shop, Training and development opportunities.
  • Permanent, full-time.
  • 41 hr contract (includes breaks), working primarily Mon - Fri office hours, but with flexibility on occasions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have right to work in the UK (not able to offer sponsorship)
  • Degree or relevant experience in fundraising, either trust foundations or corporate fundraising
  • Previous experience in fundraising, marketing, or communications within a charity.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and donor management software.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

  • Oversee the donor database, ensuring all entries are accurate, up-to-date, and free from duplications.
  • Maintain GDPR compliance across all database operations and handle data with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Regularly audit the database to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies.
  • With other members of the team, interrogate and analyse data to support strategic and targeted individual programmes.
  • Ensure all financial records related to donations are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to submit timely and accurate Gift Aid claims and other financial reporting.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising metrics and financial targets.
  • Manage and coordinate direct mailings and email campaigns to donors and prospects.
  • Support the team in writing compelling fundraising appeals and campaign materials as required.
  • Act as a liaison between the fundraising and communications teams to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Assist with copywriting and editing tasks as needed to support communication strategies.
  • Respond to donor inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the fundraising and communications teams.
