Compliance Manager / HSE and IMS Management

Compliance Manager who has extensive management, HSE, IMS and Audit experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to make strategic decisions is required for a leading manufacturer based in Shildon, County Durham, North East England.

SALARY: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Shildon, County Durham, North East England (DL4) - 100% Office Based

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Compliance Managerwho has extensive management, HSE, IMS and Audit experience, with strong communication skills and the ability to make strategic decisions.

As the Compliance Manager your role will include disciplinary and technical management of the Environment, Health and Safety departments, as well as the Integrated Management Systems department in accordance with the standards of DIN EN ISO.

Working as the Compliance Manager your role will ensure DIN EN ISO processes are implemented and standards met, an audit program is planned, executed and evaluated and advice is provided in matters of environmental protection, occupational safety, health and fire protection and accident prevention.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Compliance Managerinclude:

  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of audits and initiation of suitable improvement measures
  • Plan, execute and evaluate the audit program
  • Expansion and support of the integrated management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001/14001/50001
  • Ensuring that the requirements of the DIN EN ISO 9001/14001/50001 standards are identified and processed and implemented in the best possible way
  • Budget planning and cost control of the EHS, security and infrastructure cost centre
  • Introduce, standardize, and continuously improve the reporting organisation to Accidents, risks, hazards, etc.
  • Monitoring of legal aspects with assessment of relevant effects for the company
  • Project management (e.g., pollutant remediation, cost optimization, crisis management, Energy Optimization and Sustainability Marketing)
  • Create and monitor the EHS goals and the EHS program
  • Support and advise in matters of environmental protection, occupational safety, health and fire protection and accident prevention
  • Support and advise in questions of the IMS
  • Contact person for authorities on employers' liability insurance association
  • Coordination, controlling and reporting of projects
  • Advise on the planning of new plants, the design of workplaces and processes
  • Evaluation and analysis of measurement protocols
  • Preparation of an annual report for the EHS commissioning system, as well as IMS and compliance
  • Supervision of the preparation of procedure, operating and work instructions
  • Disciplinary management and technical management of the compliance management system
  • Compliance Champion
  • Monitoring and analysing legislative requirements
  • Establishment and further development of the existing compliance management system
  • Support and advice on compliance technical issues

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed technical studies as Master of Science
  • Extensive professional experience with management responsibility
  • Knowledge of business administration and management
  • Professional written and spoken English
  • Authorization to commission waste, hazardous substances, sustainability, emissions, water and fire protection
  • Completed further training as an EHS and IMS manager
  • Completed auditor training for the management systems according to environment (DIN EN ISO 14001), safety (DIN EN ISO 45001), energy (DIN EN ISO 50001), sustainability (DIN EN ISO 26001) and quality (DIN EN ISO 9001), as well as internal auditor according to DIN EN ISO 19001 or supplier auditor
  • Further training as an Operational Excellence Expert, Contractor Management, Conflict and Crisis Management
  • Great understanding and knowledge of the relevant standards and laws
  • Extensive knowledge of how to create legally compliant advertisements and approvals
  • Knowledge of data collection for sustainability studies and implementation of CO2 footprint calculations
  • Ability to work in a team, communication and assertiveness
  • Careful, independent and structured way of working
  • Quick comprehension of complex relationships
  • Entrepreneurial ability to make strategic decisions
  • Confident presentation skills, even in the event of acute damage events
  • Willingness to travel on business
